Morning, everyone. I had the pleasure of waking up to a pre-collision warning, brake system warning, and an ABS warning. I started the truck four different times and got the same messages, so I don't think it was a glitch or anything. The brake fluid reservoir is still full and the brakes do work (tested on the driveway, didn't go on the road yet). My PCS has never been messed with and my grille is the stock TRD Sport grille.

I'm pretty sure I'll have to take it to the dealer, but before I do, is there anything obvious that I'm missing?

A sensor related to the break system is toast. If you scan the code, you can find out which sensor it is.

Check for vermin and their love for the soy based tape on the electrical harness... and loose things.

Thanks for the advice guys. I’ll do a bit of poking around and see what I can find.

One more thing to check is there have been people that had brake warning messages because of a burned out tail light bulb. I actually bought a couple spares to keep in the truck just in case .

Also forgot the obvious... check fuses. And if that doesn't work disconnect the battery for a bit (if I remember correctly more than ?6hrs? resets the engine learning values and clears DTC too, don't quote me on that tho).

I'm still a noob with tacomas, but I think I read where someone got this when a ballast in their hid system failed. Are you running hids by chance?

I did a bit of digging around and didn't see anything obviously wrong (bad lines, fuses, etc). I didn't see any signs of rodents chewing wires and my code reader didn't show anything. I need to get my fuel pump recall done anyway, so I suppose this is as good of a time as any to get that done.

Was there some recall a while back about the PCS system?

Yep, water can get into the front emblem and f***ery can ensue, apparently... their fix is a piece of foam but I have not had it done so not sure to the accuracy of that. Get that last Toyota Care 25k service and then find a real mechanic.

Whenever the ABS and Brake lights up, should always check the IGN1 No2 Fuse first before anything else.

Did you ever have this checked out and find a solution?

    Thanks.

Yeah, I did. It turned out that something had gnawed on one of my rear ABS sensor lines and broken the connection.

I had a new harness put in there, she was good to go after that. It ran me about $300 after it was all said and done.

After many trips to the shop and $1000 later, it was determined that the previous owner installed aftermarket LED headlight bulbs which was causing my issue. Now I"m back to the OEM bulbs and no warning lights. Has anyone else upgraded their headlight bulbs and not had this issue?

    I'm in a 2021 Off-Road.

How long have you been running them and what brand are they? The OEM bulbs are shit and I want to run LED's again.
