The pre collision malfunction started coming on before starting mine at random. It does go away really quick. I don't know if this is normal. I'm currently at 580 miles

Should have taken SSP out before bringing it in.

Yeah I know. Forgot. Anything plugged into the OBD port MUST be the culprit.

Recently was told on here to put the garnish for the pro grill to get this warning off. It didn’t change a thing the same message comes up. Note I went from a oem grill to a pro.

I've replaced the front radar sensor at around 10k miles. Kept getting the clean sensor message and the PCS off indicator would come on. Found a replacement sensor online and changed it myself. Been good for a couple months.

Now the light goes off like it’s fine while driving and then it comes back on

That's what mine was doing. Probably a front sensor. I've kind of been waiting for threads to pop up with failures. Sucks they're shitting the bed already. Dealer wouldn't go good for mine because I changed it myself. That's fine, still better than wasting a day there.

Put the original grille back in and take it to the dealer for warranty. Then decide if it's worth your time to put the pro grille back in after it is fixed.

I’ve been having problems with the sensor on my 2019. The pre collision light has been coming on with a “Pre-collision system unavailable - clean sensor” warning. The sensor is clean and the truck is bone stock with no modifications. I’ll be visiting the dealer when I get a weekend off.

Also, when this happens the distance monitoring cruise control does not work.

I would definitely take it in. The only time I have seen this is when I took my grill off & forgot to plug it back in when I was done. Its obvious it's not from snow/ice & road grime on the sensor at 83°

Yeah definitely. I’ve got to wait until I have an available Saturday because the dealer I just purchased it from is SOOOO accommodating for people with an 8-5. They’re great until you sign and drive...

Yea that's crappy especially when people have to use a vacation day! There should be a courtesy clause that if there's issues like this & the truck has less than 500 or 1000 miles that the dealership can come pick it up

Oh I've been round and round with them, no such luck.

Anyways, hopefully they get it fixed. My luck when they plug it in to the diagnostic software nothing will come up lol.

Hopefully I'll be taking it in next Saturday and I'll post the findings

Good luck man & yea let us know what they come up with

With such low miles on the truck maybe check the plug connector behind the grill in the meantime

That has definitely happened to me. When you get the “clean sensor” error and its not there when you head to the dealership, the ecu doesn’t save that error message and even if i took videos and pics of the error message they still gave me the runaround. My experience though once you start getting that message it won’t take long til the “take to dealer” message appears. That saves to the ecu and they wont give excuses after that. Im on my 2nd replacement sensor now. According to the dealer, Toyota is looking into redesigning the sensor to seal it fron moisture but who knows if thats true or when its going to happen

Interesting. Hopefully Toyota releases a technical bulletin, recall, etc in the near future.
