This may have been discussed before. My truck only has 1200 miles on it and I appear to have an issue with the pre-collision system. I get a message stating pre-collision not available clean sensor. The truck is as clean as a whistle so the sensor can't be dirty. This is not all the time sometimes once a day or less. I plan on bringing it in to the dealer but if it is cleared at the time they might not find an issue.
    Anyone else have this problem?

It happened to me yesterday morning. It was cold (22F) and frosty out. Once the frost melted, it worked fine afterwards.

Hacksaw's Taco, I could see that issue in Oregon but I live in Florida. I will monitor for several weeks to see what happens.

I've only really had that issue in bad weather, maybe the connection is loose but you probably already checked that. One time I had mine say it was unavailable, my headlights all malfunctioned, lots of warning lights, turning the truck off and on fixed it all, dealer could see the code but had no idea why it happened. Best of luck.

Condensation behind the front Toyota badge can cause this. Radar can't see through water.

I don't have that particular issue.

But for mine, mine has gone off twice for no apparent reason (about 3000 miles on the truck). The first time when a car pulled into the street in front of me about .15 miles or so ahead and I was going low speed. So I don't think it was a situation where the alarm was necessary but thought maybe it was because I wasn't actively using the gas pedal.

Then the other day around the same area(pretty much a straight two lane road each way) and there was nothing in front of me when it gave off the apply brakes alarm. And I was using the gas pedal the entire time.

And it hasn't gone off when I would've expected it to. ie cars cut me off directly in front of me, cars suddenly merge in to the street, getting too close to the car in front, coming up on cars stopped on the highway, etc.

Been meaning to look in the manual to see exactly how the system is supposed to work.

The system did show it was off on the dashboard when it was snowing but I think that's to be expected. It didn't give any messages or anything other than the light showing it was off.

Mine will show the Apply Brakes alarm once or twice a month falsely. It's always on the same stretch of straight road with no other vehicles anywhere around. I imagine I could lower the sensitivity and have it not happen, but it's not a big deal. What would be a big deal is if it actually applies the brakes in that same situation. Collision alert has saved me one time when the car in front of me swerved around a stopped car and my truck hit the brakes immediately. I love the feature so far.

Ditto here with cold/frost this morning. Was wondering where the sensor was. Thanks. My other cars sensors were always by rearview mirror, so fogged window did block them
