    2019 mgm tacoma
    New to Tacoma’s I have a 2019 OR and tonight was driving when the pre collision system malfunction light came on, what should I do? Should i take it to the dealer ship or can I do something.

    Where you driving in really heavy rain, snow or ice? If so that’s normal, the sensor can’t see through it to detect other vehicles and turns off until it clears up.

    I was then stop snowing and washed the truck, and still the light came on is that normal than?

    Yes. The stupid thing will come on if you drive into the sun the wrong way. Off roading, the dust sets it off. Snow too just as said above. Even rain.

    For me, almost always, it resets on its own if you keep driving. If not, I pull into my drive way and carry on with my life. Next time I turn the truck on, it’s gone. No worries.

    Yes, the system malfunctions if moisture/insects get on to/ behind the sensor. There is a tab for a fix, I think they just silicone the crap out of it and call it a seal.
