    I'm in the market for a large-ish storage shed/garage.

I started looking at the shed kits the big box stores have and wasn't too impressed. I am looking for something under 200sf that I can put on a thick gravel pad I will put in. I have looked at the wood and metal kits online but I would rather see something in person before pulling the trigger.

I am fully capable of building something myself, but there are many projects with not much time already. A kit with everything pre-cut and ready to go would make things much easier.

If anyone has experience with any kit suppliers I am interested in hearing your experience.

I put in an Arrow tin shed, about 80 sq ft and a neighbor put one in a bit bigger. They are ok, but not the most rugged buildings. We put them on concrete slabs. Don't know how well anchors would hold them on a gravel pad. The neighbor has some (I think they are Tuff Sheds) on slabs that seem to be pretty good, but quite a bit pricier than the Arrows. He has been happy with the wood sheds and the company's service.

You could go really big bux and look at Steelmaster or equivalent. I put one of those up last year. It is very rugged.

I guess if I wanted a really satisfactory shed within a reasonable budget I would build it from scratch.

I've seen the Arrow Sheds, blown away, in pieces, and crushed. I wouldn't imagine they would work well on just gravel. A concrete pad is ideal and I'm sure a wood floor would work fine. They certainly fill a need, but I am looking for something a little more substantial. The location I am looking to fill is wooded and tree branches/limbs tend to fall regularly. Those thin steel roof panels don't fare to well from what I have seen. A framed roof should be a bit more durable for me I think.

My budget is about $5k all inclusive. (permits, site prep, delivery and building). I am really shooting to get something 12'x16' to maximize the 200sf max for storage buildings before having to pay more for a permit.

I need to call the town hall and see if/what would require a permit. As far as I can tell I can build up to 200sf and not need a permit. I do not know if I can pour a pad without one. If I can work it into my budget I would really prefer a concrete floor over wood.
