Updated*** bumper installed and wired up!

Browsing the ol' Instagram I came across a company that makes some aesthetically beautiful bumpers in my opinion called Chassis Unlimited!! I DM'd them asking about if they had any product for the 2012-2015 2nd gen Tacomas or when they would be available..... 2 messages and a phone call later an I pre-ordered their 2012-2015 bumper for an excellent deal and I will have it at my door in 5 weeks powdercoated and ready to go! Let me know what you guys think. The design to me is very unique and looks to be of high quality. So far they only have a bumper out for the 05-2011 trucks. I am taking a small risk and hoping I am happy with the results! If anyone has experience with chassis unlimited please chime in. I really like how the line of the bumper mimic the stock bumper skin and it sits high and tight!

Any word on how these bumpers look in person? I looked at the sight, and apparently there’s an option for a center hoop, but no pics?

i am going to pm you:thumbsup: Disclaimer they don't want production photos leaked quite yet but I will have mine in a couple weeks!

You can see a spy shot for the 05-2011 bumper here but the company wants to hold off on shots until they have the complete products for the 2012-2020 versions:

Got my bumper today! If the weather breaks... I am hoping to get it on at the end of this week. I think it is going to look good. Definitely going to sit high and tight to the body. Pretty slick how they mimicked the stock body lines! chassis unlimited2.jpg chassis unlimited.jpg

Did you take a picture of the backside? How's it mount to the frame?

I did not. I’ll try to get some this week. It basically mounts in the stock crash bar location and has two bolts that hold it to the frame rail where you take the tow hook off

I still need to level it a tad more this week. But it’s on the truck! Seriously didn’t think it would be quite this aggressive but it’s growing on me!

Are the Shackle mounts through the skin or are you gonna end up on my Instagram feed when you try to pull with them?

Do they go through the skin to the frame or are they just chunks of metal welded to the front of 10 gauge steel?

sorry busy weekend... I would email Chassis Unlimited directly with any structural integrity questions as they seem to put a lot of research into their designs. but I will say they are welded to the 3/16” Steel Plate on the front of the bumper.

I'll have my Octane on my doorstep anytime now. Would you say this is an offroad bumper, or more an aesthetic bumper for looks than capability??

The bumper seems to be very solid. Chassis Unlimited can answer more of the technical questions with the design but the winch tray and everything seems to be solid, the welds are beautiful, the fitment is crazy good and it definitely adds a huge amount of approach angle. Now I don’t know how robust it is to impact and I don’t plan on testing it for my application. If I had to guess it is as protective as the average hybrid style bumper

Thanks again for the insight. I'll post once I get it. Let me know if you decide on them C4's as well...
