So my original 4.0 engine out of my 2006 tacoma blew. So I had a good deal on a used 4.0 2006 4x4 engine. Put it in and it won’t stay running. Says cam shaft sensor. I changed them both, still won’t stay started. Please help! I’m going nuts.

Oh I should also say, it did run really strong for about 10 minutes then would die.

@Bishop I will check that and see what happens. If that fixes it, I’ll get you a beer lol.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Poor connection or pinched wires when you installed the wiring harness some place.

Did it trip any more codes.

    Double check the ECM ground

The ECM is still not seeing the cam sensor signal so shuts off the fuel.

I will check that asap!!! So it shouldn’t matter if it’s out of a 4x4 4.0? Thank you!!!

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Absolutely not an issue being from a 4x4 donor, a 1GRFE can be found on shit ton is vehicles. It was an installation issue for sure.

As long as all your original engine harness and ECM is being used.

The Engine has no idea it came from a 4x4
