I'm sorry I couldn't give ya a hand Mike but I've been buried with mechanical woes of my own.... ( don't worry, it isn't my truck thats giving me fits, its my GF's A/C system in her car) I've never done UCA's or LCA's & woulda liked to help ya so's I could learn something new, anyway hope it went well for you bro'........

 

Well maybe you can help me out with Jessica's AC then . I definitely coulda used an extra set of hands with my UCAs but my dad helped a little.

It all seemed straight forward....but it was a total pain in the ass. From the ball joint not wanting to come off both spindles....to the uniball pieces being 3 100ths to big...lots of sanding cussing and banging but its done. No more wierd rattle or popping noises and no more vibrations....no more money in the bank either though hopefully i make enough in tips tomorrow to do my alignment.

Oh and by the way....THANK YOU UNDER1630!!!!! I was about to give up with those damn ball joints but the BFH worked great rep ++

Yep, a BFH (big fuckin' hammer) is the ticket to knock out those tapered S.O.B.'s when a press isn't available...........

 

Yeah it calmed me down too cause I was getting really pissed off and frustrated. I don't care what anyone says but hitting stuff always makes you feel better ha

 

lol my ball joints wouldnt come out even with a crowbar or a mallet, so I had to rent a ball joint remover. few bangs with a mallet on the end of the fork and that sumbitch almost exploded

but i know exactly what you mean, it took me 2 different days, the first day i gave up and the second I came back with a vengeance and some help from tw. I was swearing like a sailor those days

 

Haha seriously. I was yelling and hitting that damn thing as hard as I could with a sledge hammer and it finally popped.
