I have a 2001 Double Cab 4 cyl Pre-runner that does not have limited slip. I need it to perform better in snow and light mud without just sitting there spinning one tire. This truck is my daily driver and therefore highway performance must come first.

I've been looking around on-line at various LSD mfgs and it seems none of them have applications for the pre-runners b/c "your model may allready have LSD..." Mine clearly doesn't have factory installed LSD. Does anyone have any advice on what some potential solutions are? Thanks in advance.

No 1995.5 - 2004 Tacoma came from the factory with a limited-slip differential.

The TRD LSD was a dealer-installed accessory that could be added at the point of sale.

Your PreRunner should have the so-called '8.4' differential. The TRD clutch-type and the Detroit TrueTrac gear-type LSD's are the typically-cited options.
