Hope to ask this of someone with real use of these refrigerators:
I live in the desert and want a refrigerator that will keep food cold even when it is HOT outside. It may well be 90 degrees when camping and will these refrigerators keep my beer and or coke ice cold on these days with opening it kept down to say once aevery 30 minutes? I looke at the ARB website and it appearsthe 37 quart and 50 quart refers might have the same cooling ssystem (based on curret draw listed). If they are the same then the smaller one might keep up with the heat better, or am I trying to read between the lines??? Also a coole in the truck may well be sitting in 120 degree temp with the sun shining. I know from experience this eats up the ice in a cooler pretty quick. Just seeking info if you guys have real experience with these 12 volt refrigerators. Next thing it to see how much stuff I can get in a 37 or 50 quart refrigerator.....

I have had mine in the bed of my truck in upper 90s with the sun beaming on it through the camper shell window....still keeps the fridge in the low 40s and upper 30s....without a doubt still cold enough to drink :D

I think I have responded to all the PMs that were sent...as soon as we get some commitments we will start counting it down to the first 10. At that time I will send out invoices to those 10 and once they are paid I will place the order...

These real refrig/freezer appliance is new to me, but traveling with a cooler and ice is old hat, and camping/hunting with a cooler and ice is a constant battle to run for fresh ice every couple days.

Been doing a bit of internet research and the ARB Fridge has some advantages over the lower priced Whynter fridges. While both are capable of keeping your food and drinks plenty cold the ARB uses less power, meaning you can easily go 2 or 3 days without having to run the truck to recharge the battery while the Whynter would require you to start it up every day for a recharge. This in itself may not be a big deal if you are driving every day anyway.

The other advantage of the ARB is it has a 3 year warrantee, the Whynter warrantee is 1 year. The Whynter is less expensive due to Home Depot presently has a 10% off any appliance offer BUT Home Depot is now out of stock on the Whynter in both 45 and 65 quart sizes, so ARB it is! Count me in fora 50 quart ARB!

And one more thing to share... Reading reviews of (all brands) 12 volt refrigerators a frequent statment was "I wish I would have gotten the next bigger fridge". Just keep that in mind.
