Hey I'd like any input you guys have from your experiences. How hard are parts to come by on a truck that is upwards of 30 years old? I'd save a ton buying used and I could beat her while not feeling bad about it compared to a 3rd gen but if I have to replace something that isn't made anymore then what's the point?

These trucks are so popular and so mass produced that I'd be suprised if you couldn't find a mechanical part, maybe with the exception of the 22RET.

You won't find a problem finding parts for the pickup line and they are dirt cheap compared to the new Tacomas.

$230 for a power mirror on my 08
$30 for a power mirror on my 93

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Very easy to find parts for. If you go older, you either have the 22R, 22RE or 3.0 V6 and the 22's were one of Toyota's most mass produced engines, parts can be found anywhere. Only difference between the two is the R is carbureted and the RE is fuel injected. I have the 22R carbureted 4 cylinder in my '79 Toyota truck.
