I remember stumbling on some info online a while back about some Tacomas being pre-wired for cruise control but not having it completed. Is there an easy way to confirm that my 2003 prerunner is or is not pre-wired? If I understood what I read correctly, I just need the cruise lever and need to cut a hole in the back cover behind the wheel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah if you have the electronic throttle system, not the drive by wire most of us have, it looks like you can easily add cruise control. Go for it man. I would if it was that easy to add for mine.

How can I tell if I have an electronic throttle system, vs. drive by wire?

And is it really that simple as just installing the switch in the steering column? I have an automatic so no clutch switch needed, but what about a break switch? Is that somehow wrapped into the electronic throttle? Really appreciate this info because I am DYING to get CC. These old knees would appreciate it too! Thanks for any and all info.

I don't know if it's that easy because it's not applicable to me but based off what I read there it sure does sound pretty simple to add.
