In case anyone was wondering some 2nd gen Tacos in the States are completely pre-wired wired for heated seats.

First I checked for the relay:
    IMG_5780.jpg

Then checked for the switch wiring (there is a dedicated R & L switch) the plugs are different for some reason:IMG_5642.jpg

Im willing to bet these capped wire ends under the seat are for the elements:IMG_5781.jpg

Just get the heating elements, connectors, switches, and relay and everything is nearly plug & play.

For trim reference, I've got a 2012 TRD Sport.

    Very nice.

I'm wagering my little 5 lug won't have that. Although it was prewired for back up camera in tailgate and at mirror, yet not for fog lights.

But I just park in the sun to heat my seat :D

Usually what I eat has a strong influence on the temperature of my seat. However my wife is strongly in favor them being electrically heated:rofl:

They're different so the worker at the factory doesn't have to wonder which one is for driver and which is for passenger on the assembly line.

I put them under my Clazzio's and put the Seat Heater Button in the shift console. Love the bun warmers in the cold weather

I hate being the bearer of bad news but if you are referencing those White Wires with the Black Stripe. Those are standard for Toyota Ground connection. I would almost be willing to bet they are all tied together on the end.

That's kind of what I thought at first. But why would there be 4 ground wires under each seat all open at the end? They're bound together and capped off with piece of rubber tubing filled with some sort of hard drying cement.

I have a wiring diagram somewhere. I just need to find it.

I guess I could just get a relay, plug in a switch and see if they have power.

You may get lucky, but I'm not buying into Toyota using white wire with black stripe for all grounds in the truck. then flipping that on its head for the seat heaters... I think those wires are tied to ground. If you have a meter a free method to check would be to read the resistance of each wire to the chassis. I'd think they would read near 0 Ohms. IN which case they would all be ground wires.

Those do appear to be ground wires. I should have some time tomorrow to pull the seat at look for the blue an purple wires.

I agree. If the connectors are there they would be three wires for each seat.

    1. Lavender.
    2. Violet.
    3. White with Black Stripe.
