Hey guys. I have the Step bars factory installed on my 2016 TRD OR and pretty much hate them. I personally don't use them and the wife, who thought she would, doesn't use them either. I also run into the issue where I accidentally rub the calf of my pants on them when I get in or out which of course transfers mud from the step bars onto my pants. There is also the issue of ground clearance... Needless to say next day off work I am looking at taking them off.

I looked briefly but I am assuming they are just bolted on. I will take the bolts off, remove the step bars and be done with things. I would doubt that the bolts need to be replaced and I can hopefully give someone a good deal on them.

Anyone have any input? I tried some quick Google searches for people putting on factory step bars and the only thing I think I am missing is a way to plug the holes left when I unbolt the the stepbars from the truck itself.

I'll ask you to define cheap. I was offered part number 90950-01955 at cost of $3.25 a piece. You need 12 total. I figured I would verify that cost before buying them. I wonder if there are any alternatives that might be half the cost or am I just being cheap?

Those bars sound terrible. I will give you $20 for them if you include shipping. On second thought... Since I really want to help you out... $40 so you can pay for the plugs.

They're worthless if you ever plan to go off road as well. The welds on the steps are weak and they'll break off of the main bar as soon as you snag them on anything solid off road.

They came off easily enough. Surprisingly light but then again they are made if Aluminum.

While under the I noticed that there are other factory unplugged hole that I can only imagine are for draining any water that may get in there. These holes aren't even a half inch higher off the ground and empty into the interior air space so I am just going to leave it unplugged for now.

On a side note I now a set of step bars for sale. $350 obo.
