Will predator steps be an issue for operation on big profile forest roads?

They could be if you encounter a washout or a downed tree. Any obstacles that you have cross over really...

Don’t worry about smashing them, you can pick up a used set cheap.

Any step, or anything, that hangs down can get hung up, but only you can decide if they’ll get hung up in your environment.

From personal experience they are fine on dirt with some ruts but nothing big. Where I go is mostly flat dirt/grass with ruts from water run off, but then again I don't go anywhere my 4x2 with auto LSD won't get me out of. If your forest roads aren't much worse than this you will be fine.

Decent forest road, no. Anything more aggressive off those trails, possibly. My buddy with a pro (which is 2 inches taller iirc) ripped 2 of the 4 clean off, dinged the other 2. I was in front with a stock OR and only scraped the plates underneath. Maybe he picked worse lines but I didn't think the trail was that bad to do what it did to him lol

I've done some minor bending to the bottoms of the front steps on large rocks. Dirt forest roads should not be a problem.

I cut the steps off on mine. Looks much nicer IMO.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I replaced mine with sliders, but I do wheel where the steps would get caught on things. I was also thinking they would damage the cab if they got snagged since they are attached to the body and not the frame like sliders.

Look at the steps, well what's left of the steps. Bottom picture is were it happened
