When an idiot kills someone (or dies in an accident) and tries to blame it on a defective truck. You damn betcha Toyota will use it against you. It's already being done by all manufacturers and the police.

This is nothing new as we are all assets to a corporation. For example when you were born your mother informed the government that she created a new product and a warehouse receipt was issued in your name know as a birth certificate. These corporations and that’s all there is...have been tracking you since you were born. In the end it’s all about the money since money is backed by labor and your the asset that performs the labor.

Good luck. I removed my passenger side airbag and relocated it right in the glove box, and installed my ecu right on top of it along with a few other magnetic countermeasures. In the event of a crash, all memory is instantly destroyed. The only people who deserve to know the truth about anything is me and post

Depends where one draws the line of appropriate use of the data. For many, it's likely already far past that point. Some seem to forget that anyone carrying a modern smartphone around has already given up everything Toyota may get from telematics plus way, way more. "They" already have damn near everything whether you realize it or not.

I'd wager big data is the single most valuable asset on the planet surpassing fossil fuels with ease. The current owners have only scratched the surface of what is possible with it.

Fwiw, I don't personally think it's necessarily a bad thing but it certainly has the potential to be as all innately powerful things do.

The only ones worried about this stuff are people that drive like well, assholes. The people who know better realize this truck doesn't have enough power to even drive close to being an asshole, well at least the level of assholery i'm talking about

That’s an interesting take. Can’t find anything there to take issue with either...

Im a pretty good driver. I’m not worried about them using it against me. I just don’t like the government or a corporation looking over my shoulder. It’s more about privacy than liability.

I think we've all surrendered the idea of privacy these days. The local news site know that i'm on Sweetwater looking at powered studio monitors and yet YouTube seems to think I want to watch some gamer channels yet i've never watched a gamer channel ever.

That’s the most depressing part about it. There ain’t shit we can do at this point unless you want to live like this guy... which kind of in a way wouldn’t be all that bad to me.

actually..due to the perceived higher class apartment living complexes, LA fitness, and drive- thru Starbucks all in immediate proximity of the one to the East....it has a way better talent pool than the one to the west.

    here’s a pro tip....
If you are there Friday’s around 10pm, you are almost guaranteed to find half a dozen 6-8’s in line buying a bottle of wine and a pint of ice cream.
it’s almost Unfair how easy it is.
