Prefer rail system or a bed cover?

You need to be a lot more specific than that.

 

gas cans, Hi Lift jacks, stuff like that

 

For me, a roll up cover works best. Hunting, fishing and camping with a trailered atv I need cargo room that's flexible. It will keep the honest people honest and the critters and elements out as well. And you can still help your brother-in-law move a fridge.

Remember, a friend will help you move, but a GOOD friend will help you move a body.

Even if you have a bed cover you still want those items mounted, so I say both.

 

I don't think it can be both. The Bed cover is mounted to the bed rails

 

Ah, I have a soft top so I can still mount stuff to the rails.

 

I maybe be possible just have to play with the fittings, I don't know.

I like my cover for a few quirky reasons. I like that it's fast to remove.

It fits fine (Extang TriFold) and the OE cleats will still mount and move around, clearing the cover.

I even have 4 rod holders mounted in the rail, and the cover clears them. Yes, I have to run with the cover open when carrying rods, or remove it when I carry yaks and rods. Point is, I don't have to remove the rod holders to use the cover.

It's all a matter of if something sticks up too high or not to fit, how you use the truck 80% of the time, and how energetic you are.

 

You can get bed covers that arent attched to the bed rail. Mine mounts behind the bed rail.

 

Bed covers on trucks are retarded.

 

Tools getting wet and stolen is retarded.
