Just purchased a 2013 Tacoma Double Cab 4 x 4 (base model). Dropping it off next week at the 4wheel drive shop. Just wondering what the most preferred lifts are for this truck. (6 inch). I'm new to this site, I am a JEEP guy too. But my jeep is now just strictly a ROCKRAWLER. My new toy is going to be my Tacoma. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks again.

I was thinking maybe a ruff country or pro comp lift with some 35's (KM2's or Maxxis Mudders), and some XD 17" wheels. What do you think?

I love my Jeep also, but only went with a 3" lift on the Toy.

Fabtech then? Sweet, how much does their 6" inch lift run, do you know ballpark? And do you think 35inch tires are going to be big enough for the 6inch lift?

There are several different options, $4173.21 on the high side. You can find it cheaper. 35s will fit, plan on re-gearing.

Yeah, that won't last long....lol. But one thing at a time....I can see that the Tacoma's are similar to the JEEPS, you can get carried away in a hurry and spend 10K in the blink of an eye....

Nice. So I know if I was going to do some serious offroading in this thing, then I would never buy a cheaper lift (ruff country, pro-comp, etc), but if it's just more for the looks, then is going with something other than a 2700 FABTECH lift going to cause a big issue? I'm not use to IFS vehicles and don't really know the wear and tear on them with these lifts. My other suspension lift is a ROCKRAWLER long arm 5.5. I have no experience really with other lifts are experiences. All info will be appreciated.

Honestly if it's doing no serious off roading just some back roads easy trails and shit like that most 6 inch lifts will do. Drop brackets are drop brackets. obviously you can go BDS for like 4K with fox coilovers but a rough country does well also. I have a 2015 Double Cab TRD sport on a rough country 6 inch lift with spacers in the front and back. I've done some off-roading just to text it and it does well it stiffens up a bit on road but what DB won't do that. If it ends up bothering you can just remove the rear blocks and go full custom 6 inch lift Deaver leaf springs for about 1k and it'll ride smoother and do coilovers up front but that'll stiffen your ride. IMO rough country is good for on road use. But I agree a regear is needed! Good luck with your build.

I just looked up some EBAY pricing on the FABTECH's, they are pricey, is the difference really that noticeable?
