    I doubt the first few months will be very fun. Morning sickness and tiredness. The next few months might be fun. Toward the end might be like the first few if she gets too uncomfortable.

    My son came yesterday. 7.6 lbs 21in. Doc induced her first thing in the AM and mom wanted no meds(wow) she made it 9 hours and it was just too much. She took the Meds, went from 5cm too 9cm in 35 min then he got stuck and had a weak heart rate. Cecetion was a must and 3 minutes later and my whole world changed!!!!!!

    Yup, my daughter is 1 month old today. It's crazy! It's fun going home at the end of the day and playing with her until she goes to sleep. (which is like every 3 hrs almost, awesome). Took my breath away when she was born and the doc laid her on mamas chest.

    My Dad did it - my little sister is 18 and he is 58. He said it isn't so bad - just more work than he planned on.

    Theres obviously a whole lot to consider there, but besides the fact that you should REALLY want that kiddo,to be dedicated when you could be bowling or RV-ing into the golden years(JK!!!:p)
    any pregnancy with mom >age 35 is riskier by the year.... (My wife is 39 Y/o and 37 weeks gestation:D... so we had to do all the tests and hear all the scary crap).
    the risk of birth defects and downs syndrome (apparently) goes up exponentially... BUT that is all relative to how healthy and fit the woman is... and whether she has any Hx of prior complications with pregnancy. and maybe some luck. It's worth asking about the male side of it too. IDK. But It certainly has been done successfully, as some may better than me... Best of luck with your decision !!!...or coping with hers!!!

    I totally missed this thread somehow but...

    On monday it's 3 weeks to go:eek::D:eek::D...:cookiemonster:....
    99% sure It's a girl, and everythings been totally uneventful (medically)except a few hormonal outbursts here and there (never know when you might need a helmet)...
    We are planning for a homebirth. We have a really cool, knowledgeable midwife, who is also a nurse,and EMT, (which of course legitimizes her in my book... )
    She's definitely in charge, but if all goes well, i will be catching (double:eek::eek:!...:D)
    I also moved station assignments, so i am in my home district, so if momma goes into labor while I'm at work, she can call, and it will be me who shows up in the wambulance. (most likely i will actually be calling for coverage to go home tho...)

    Any ways... I am Super pumped and a little skeered... and wistfully watching those OME dakar Leafs and W.O. seat covers becaome a distant memory... for now.

    Cheeers to all you new parentals!

    Baby was delivered a day early on September 17th. A very healthy girl. She scored a 9 on the APGAR. We are blessed.

    So my wife and I are trying. It's been about 2 months that we've been going at it. She is going for an ultrasound to make sure all of our inners are good because she hasn't had her cycle yet since she's been off the pill. All preg tests are negative. Hopefully everything comes back fine and we just keep on going and going and going :)

    I may need to go get my count checked out too.. :-\
