If you are in the newly added phase 9, then two out of those three dealers are correct. The notice you received, or the one on https://www.toyota.com/recall , would say either "Interim Notice" or Remedy Available" at the top of the letter.

10/17 Texas. Does either (or both)make a difference?

As it turns out, I was so excited to be included in this recall, kinda' like getting invited to hang out with the cool kids, that I failed to read the entire letter. You, sir, are correct in that it does say, "Interim Notice". I cancelled my appointment. Thanks.

Double check your letter for "Interim Notice in the upper left hand corner. I just got educated by Dilbert a few posts back. He saved my ass!

I just didn't want anyone driving that far just to get sent home.

Checked my letter. Mine says "Urgent safety recall" and also "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL (Remedy Notice)". It also specifically says "remedy" in several spots. It goes on to say "Please contact any authorized Toyota dealer to schedule an appointment to have the remedy performed as soon as possible". Maybe I'm sitting on a ticking time bomb...

Let me take picture and I'll upload it.

You should be good to get it done then.

Weird, I wonder why 2018s are getting remedy available before 2017s.

Since yours is a 2018, you're probably in phase 4. Go get your new fuel pump and all the a honors and benefits occurring thereto.

Because 31,800 2017 Tacomas were added to the recall on 10/28. They are phasing it sort of strange.

Makes sense. You'd think they'd bump the older ones to the top... but I guess if they've survived this long, what's a few more months.

I love honors and benefits. I've seen posts on here where some have said their trucks ran better. Wonder if that's placebo effect or what. My truck is running fine, but interested to see if MPG improves or maybe she'll lay down rubber in 3rd.

    Will report back.

I got my pump done on 12/9, but I applied the TSB ECU update on 12/4. So mine started driving better before the new fuel pump. I didn't notice any change after.

    Got it.

Is yours an auto? And the TSB ECU update, is that just for Auto or MTs too?

I have an MT hence the question. I'll go hunting on here for the TSB...

Come with me and you'll be a world of pure imagination.... or at least ECU TSBs.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/

For 2018 MT it looks like this is yours.
TSB-0058-18 -- 2016 through 2018 MT and AT Update. This TSB will update:

MT ECU IDs 04B10 through 04B12 are updated to 04B13 and 04A70 is updated to 04A71

OK I'm 30 seconds in and I'm already hosed!! I didn't realize we could download TechStream... I've been down the coding path on other platforms. Slippery fun slope.

Huh, mine is a 2019, made in Jan of 19. I just got the letter the other day saying the fix is ready, call your dealer, my truck was ready to bring in. I called my local dealer and bringing it in tomorrow, they said a few hours. I got my original first letter in the summer I think. Funny how some other 19 owners are being put off, maybe they have later build dates.

Just wondering Toyota's timeframe for this recall. My 17 has a Texas build date of 11/16. No recall.
