So after realizing how much im going to need for the wheels and tires i want, i have decided that i am going to go with the cheap rount for my lift (for now). So im wondering what is worse, because i know neither are good. i could go with longer front coils over the stock shock, or put spacers and compress the shock.. i think the coils will look better but will it cause the stock shock to leak or break??

Whoa, what tires are you looking to get?!?!

With that kind of money invested in the wheels and tires, the cheapest I'd go would be 5100's for the front.

just be patient and save up!!

The cheap way just to "get it done now" will satisfy you for a month tops... then you'll want to go the "Real" way, but you won't have enough money to do so because you just bought the spur of the moment cheap lift....

I'm going to be on my third suspension soon cause I couldnt just shut the fuck up and wait till I had enough $$$ for what I wanted.......DONT BE ME

and what tire are you looking at that's almost 400 each? My MT/R's are expensive but only 250 each...

Wow. Are you bumping up to 33's? What tires and from where? It sounds like someone is taking advantage of you.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
If you are wanting to go cheap, both top plate and preload have drawbacks. Top plate extends the amount of shock there is and does possible damage to your ball joints, which could lead to a disastrous failure, that, another guy has a thread going now of his failed ball joints. Preload puts excessive wear on your strut assembly, and the struts may wear much quicker. If eventually you are going to replace the shocks any way, I'd say do preload for now. Though it is a little more difficult to install than top plates. Good luck

And no matter what a shop tells you. Cutting will need to happen.

33s aren't to big. The width is what is going to require alot of trimming.

285 75 16 would be better. Its pretty much a 33" tire but not as wide. You'll still have to do some trimming and a cab mount chop if you wheel.

And seriously reconsider before buying anything from 4 Wheel Parts.

Their reputation is not the best.

tires@400??? um, hmm, ok. maybe research a bit more, 400 is WAY too expensive for a tire, and for a 2wd.

Maxxis doesn't make Creepy Crawlers in a 33. They start at 35 and go up from there. They do make a 255 pizza cutter which I doubt would look the way you want.

Is that avatar picture actually you or did a sorority girl sneak in from Facebook and edit your account?

These will wear quickly with on road use. They are made for primarily off road vehicles.

That won't stop 4WP from claiming they can get them, claiming they are ordering them, taking $1600, and then not calling the customer for 2 months to tell them they can't get them.

They did that to me on my Silverado. I ended up threatening a refund out of them and bought online for half what they wanted, and I've heard a number of similar stories.

I think it's how they finance their business without paying interest.
