When I put my lift on, about 2 years ago I also replaced the strut mounts with KYB SM5640's. I also installed new dobinsons struts and springs. My truck has been making some noises lately, I also wanted to swap the coils left<>right to investigate another issue. When I took the struts out, I noticed the isolators, and the locating washers are wallowed (wallered?) out, and a groove worn in the shock stem. What could I have done that could have caused this to come loose?

I'm going to replace the strut mounts for now. Do you think the struts need replacing? I think that eye bushing was probably from torque the bolt without being under load, because I was a newb and didn't know better at the time.

Bottom, definietly torque at ride height, that stated those are fine, they all kinda mushroom out a bit as the whole weight of the truck is on that bushing.

The KYB mounts, i put some on my truck about 30k miles ago and the rubber is definitely already cracked and not nearly as good as the OEM ones.

I'm not as worried about the rubber, as I am the shock stem rubbing on the plate. Good to know that the bottom bushing is still ok. Do you think it's ok to use with that groove on the stem?

Do you know where I can a diagram of which direction the washers go and all that? Just want to verify I'm right.

If it were mine I would replace the shocks and the top hat. Yours are fooked up.

That's the plan eventually. But I can't get a new pair of dobinsons struts on a Sunday. I've got some frame issues I need to figure out, then I'll probably be doing a suspension upgrade. Maybe the Dobinsons IMS struts
