Thats why I recommend hearing them in person, some might notice no difference, other might be super picky, like myself. Most will be pleased with the Kickers.

Does anybody know if the stock head unit in the sr5 can be used for this setup or do I need to upgrade it?

He has an amp, if that’s what you meant by dropping more. The stock SR5 headunit eith knobs at the top does not drive the speakers in this thread adequately according to some people that have done the upgrade.

It drove my Kicker KS and Subaru speakers just fine . I just opted for the amp to get higher volume levels.

Right - this with SR5s have had pretty good luck. The HU in the SRs isn’t powerful enough to power these though

i have a sr utility cab just door speakers that are stock , but did the subbie tweeter mod , big difference for sure ,so I guess I cant do the kicker door speakers ? I was also going to put 6x9s in the back by the floor in front of the cubbies so I guess I need a new head unit ? or do I just use an amp for the four speakers and not the tweeters?

Just an update. Been a few months and I think my sound is only getting better. My bass has been distorting all my mirrors and its great.

Help! For some reason I cannot get the window plug back into the plug on the switches. Any suggestions? This thing should pop right back in there!

Same here... especially low end bass response and the high end is also punchier with wear. With the Noico in and on the doors I don’t get as much mirror vibes except the rearview and only then when I crank it to eleven

Patience? I remember them being a little tricky to unplug, but they plugged right back in.

I did the Subaru tweeter and the 6x9 3ways listed in OP’s post. The front sounded better, but then I installed the Alpine Powerpack from my last truck, bridged it at 90x2 to run the front.

You all don’t know what you’re missing out on. There’s a different level of awesome in these speakers.

If I didn’t have he Powerpack already, I wound have installed the new Kicker Keysmart amp.

If you’re on the fence about an amp, do it.

Gotta agree . I was going to do the Key Amp but got a great deal on the Power Pack open box. It was only 80 bucks to have Best Buy do the Amp install. I supplied the Metra plugs . Much better with the amp.

When you do the hideaway do you also need to add a active line out like a Lc2i active line out ?

No. It works on speaker level inputs, too. Just tap in to the from or rear speakers wires.

No. Switch on back looks for line level or speaker out, same input.
No RCA jacks, just wire. Splice in the line level cable  (believe it or not).
Why they didn't have rca input jacks also ? Probably cost savings.

I am trying to order the speakers from Crutchfield and it is asking if I have a six inch radio or a 7inch radio. Here is a pic of head unit, can anyone tell me what I have?
