I've been running that exact setup now for a week or two and it rocks, sounds perfect (albeit a lot of tweeters). I even called kicker to ask them about that concern and the tech said while he can't from the company's point of view say it is correct he said not representing the company there's basically next to zero issues given the Tweeters pull so very little power at such a higher frequency that there should be no problems.

Sorry too many pages to find it all. I appreciate the op and all their effort here. 2nd Gen doesn’t seem fully addressed. Do the Subaru tweeters work with a 2nd gen 2016 with Entune “plug and play”? If not what tweeters could I get?

Tweeters in this post will not work with 2nd gen I believe.

You’d be looking at the kicker 43CSS694 component set. This will come with the woofer and the tweeter

One more Question and hopefully the last. Im making a T-harness to add the kicker key to the radio and the to parts I got don't match up. The Metra 71-1761 & Metra 70-1761.The picture shows the rear speakers part. One connector has an orange wire with a black strip, the other one has no wire to run back to the trucks harness. What is the orange and black stripped wire for and do I need it in a 2018? FYI I have not pulled the radio yet, so I have no idea if the harness even has a wire in that slot.

You won’t need that wire. De-pin it, cut it off, cap it, whatever you want

I have a sound deadening question. Can you put sound deadening foam over the Noico mat? Or is this just total overkill? I was thinking of doing this on the back wall since that is where a ton of road noise comes from.

    Too much.
    Yes you can

I'm replacing everything with Morel. Not in this budget range, but great components. Going to see if the kicker tweeters fit in my BIL's 2010 Tundra. Pretty sure the will work exactly the same.

I used this thread to build my own "Budget"Set up as it has some amazing info, advice and suggestions. Thank you to all the experts as well as enthusiasts on here who literally helped me make decisions just based on their own experiences and posts which helped me learn from their infinite wisdom.

I Ended up with a 10 Inch Sub, box, amp, 6x9 Front Door Speakers, 6.5 Rear Door Speakers, all the Adapters and Wireharness Adapters, the line converter as well as Amp kit which included the necessary wires to power and hook up the sub for $315. It is basically a complete plug and play system with no major modifications such as removing the storage panels behind the back seats or taking the seats out of the car or anything like that. Speakers are all Pioneer (Doors are 3 way) and the only thing I have not even looked at yet is the tweeters. I hooked up the SUB already and that alone gave me enough bass to feel it in my chest but not enough to show up at the car show and try to be competitive...lmao! It was an overall noticeble difference already and I plan to install the Door speakers this weekend.

Without going through this whole feed.. where are the most important spots to put the sound deadening on without wallpapering the whole door.. sorry if this has been answered before..

The inside skin of the door is probably the one more important area.

Doing the inside skin of the door will also have the side effect of improving the speaker's response if you seal most of the gaping holes with the sound deadener. It usually improves the midbass frequencies of the woofers a bit.

Also, a few people have said that sound deadening the rear wall (behind the rear passenger seats) has had surprisingly good results.

Lastly, if you're in a place that gets a lot of rain, then I'd also suggest doing the roof. That roof has almost NO support and it magnifies each drop more so than any other panel does on the truck.

I bought the power pack open box from Best Buy. And the Metra Adapters also. The adapters are cheaper online but they had em in stock. Just get in touch with the installer at your Best Buy or Maybe Destin Meeks will chime in. He's an installer.

The only two worth getting (in my opinion) is the alpine 445 or the kicker key. And I much prefer the kicker. Especially if you are keeping the stock head unit.
