I replaced my tweeters today, and oh my. Guys when you read everyone saying it's a great upgrade, it is way more than just a great upgrade. If you don't plan on having or sub and just want a cheap plug and play upgrade these tweeters are insane and worth the price.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
This what I am building. It will power all 4 speakers evenly and the tweeters up front. Going to "T" into the factory wire harness, amp the front input, then output to the 4 doors.

Perhaps speaker housing was not screwed in evenly or a screw got tightened too much and stripped the plastic fastener in the door?

I suggest installing some sound deadening material around the speaker and perhaps behind the speaker on the outside skin. Check to see if you stripped the plastic that the screws go into. I found a few stripped already from the factory install so I got a few under warranty from the dealer.

The door speakers are the same CRAP speakers that are installed in the Camry. You just expect better minimum quality from Toyota. FYI, the speakers in my Kia Forte5 were 10 times better(they had a real magnet on the back).

Go crazy and have fun doing the stereo upgrade. I have upgraded the stereo in every vehicle I've owned. When my Dad says "what are you doing now to your truck"?. I reply," another stereo upgrade, at least I'm not out robbing banks". Then he offers to hold the trouble light while I crawl under the dash. FYI, over 50 now and still enjoy the end result of all the hard work.

All 4 door speakers replaced with the cs series kickers suggested by OP and Subaru tweeters in the dash. The sound is great! Thanks for all of the help from everyone! It was well worth the time and money!

This is the finished product for the driver side front door. I feel like this level of sound deadening wasn’t necessary for these speakers but I figured why not..

Did you take any pics of the sound deadening that you did?

Hey man how would you compare the kicker ks series to the cs series we’ve all upgraded to because of this thread? I am enjoying the cs speakers but have an itch for better sound. I generally keep the volume around 35-40 with the windows closed, so more volume isn’t my desire, just better sound. Are the ks a good upgrade from the cs series? Thanks!

Here’s what I did. Seems to have cleaned up the sound a lot to me.

I love the KS far more than the CS, but that comes with a caveat.
The KS need power. They need more power than the CS, and far more power than the factory radio puts out.
If you're willing to add an amp, they are great. Good midbass, and the tweeters are silk dome instead of titanium like the CS so the highs are much more smooth. That results in a lower volume level, but less harsh highs. But again, they need power (but so will everything if you want clean sound. clarity comes with power)

Nice. I was wanting to run them without an amp, but if they need more power, I might have to consider that! Thanks for the help.

Thoughts on removing the plastic and fabric crap inside the doors? Is there a functional purpose for this (i.e keep moisture out of something)? Seems like if they put it there, it should serve some purpose right?

The clear plastic film is a moisture barrier. Just to be safe, I wouldn't permanently remove it unless you replace it with something. You can detach it to put some sound deadening in the doors, but re-attach it afterwards.

Plastic is a moisture barrier I believe
