Hopefully Amazon sells one. I've got $10 off $20 from a prime deal. The sail is $32 and one tab already broke with the glob in place

Yeah so the globs of glue were an understatement. There weren't even any tabs left but one. Just huge globs of not glue. I had to use a lighter to soften the glue a bit and punch it out. Also discovered my doors weren't sealed to keep the water out so now I have to find that black crap to do it myself

I did the Kicker CS door upgrade yesterday morning, only took about 30 minutes.

Huge upgrade as far as sound clarity. I thought I was going to regret adding 4 more tweeters, was planning on disconnecting them. But I was actually surprised, Its not too busy in the cabin, and its def not as harsh as I was expecting. I got about 1.5 hours of listening time yesterday, and I'm pleased.

I'm finally about to wrap up with the upgrade. It's my first time adding any sound deadening, and damn it; it's a pain in the ass. Definitely not a quick upgrade. I'm really hoping it makes a big difference. It wasn't expensive money wise, just time wise. Had to take a drill bit to the rear mounting brackets to get the included bolts to fit. They were machined and slightly too big for the holes. Hoping it all works after I get it buttoned up

Hey folks. I just swapped my front door speakers this weekend and I noticed water drops on the inside of the door panel. I live in the NW so it rains a lot here but wondering if this is normal? My assumption is that it is not normal haha.

Yes, a few drops is normal. That is one of the reasons I re-installed the oem plastic sheet on top of the sound dampening material.

I had to do the same thing with my mounting brackets and fortunately didn't have a problem when I put it all back together.

As it turns out, the black self screws I used on the 6x9s were also included with the 6.75s. I just didn't see them because they were stuck to the magnet of the cone. They probably would've worked perfectly, but after drilling out the holes, they didn't bite as well as I would have liked. So I used the washers with the bolts to create a spacer. The bolts were slightly too long and stuck out the back, which was hitting the door panel. Oh well, live and learn. It worked out and everything is mounted and working. When I first kicked it on after going through the auto setup with the key amp, I was disappointed that the system wasn't very loud even when I cranked it. As it turns out, my phone was limited my volume output to a safe level. I kicked it up and damn near blew the glass out of the truck. I'm just trying to get the EQ fine tuned for the best experience. It sounds a little muddy, but I'm sure that's because I'm using 3ways instead of component.

If anyone’s in the market for this set up I have all 4 kicker cs speakers with adapters and harness for each, plus kicker key amp180.4 that’s been pre wired with plug n play harness. I was thinking $300 for Everything and I will install it if you’re In SoCal. Shoot me a pm if you’re interested! Everything works great I just got a stupid good deal on a package so I changed up my audio set up.

Good to hear. It was more like 15 drops. I guess I could have been more specific.

I threw speakers in last weekend. We were just coming off an inch or so of rain... I had quite a few rain drops/moisture in the door as well.

My truck has less than 1,000 miles on it, I'm going to say its probably just fine.

To make everyone feel better, every vehicle will get water in the door panels during rain. Nothing to worry about

Traded in my 17 limited for a 20 Sport. I'm missing the JBL system, so i'm happy you guys are finding pretty cost effective solution.

That being said, are there any 2020 guys out there that have done the door speaker upgrade yet? I thought I saw in passing a wiring harness that was specific to the 20s. Crutchfield doesn't ship to Canada, so i'm sourcing everything individually.

    So far have
    -Subaru Tweeters
    -6x9 mounting brackets
    -6-3/4" mounting brackets

    In the mail
Front and rear kicking speaker set (Kicker)

Solved my own question, should have used better keywords when searching earlier. Sounds like the front tweeters and front door speakers are the same as previous years and the rear door ones will require a new harness.

Sorry if this has been covered in this thread or maybe some one can chime in. I just replaced my whole system, new Sony headunit, kicker speakers all around, and the kicker Subaru tweeters. I’m getting a really harsh static, almost a slap out of what seems like the tweeters at pretty mild volume.

I can’t figure it out! I swapped my factory head unit back in and everything works fine no issues. Then I reattached the Sony again and it’ll start out okay for a few minutes. Then I get that same awful static after only a couple minutes. I noticed the Sony is getting pretty warm/hot. It is a refurbished unit. Could it be a faulty headunit? Or is it maybe my connections? I did solder all the connections and heat shrink them so I think they’re pretty good but I don’t know.

Sorry for the loaded post but I’m at my wits end trying to figure this out.

Definitely sounds like the head unit is either defective, or doesn’t like the ohm load for the front speakers. The tweeters and speakers in the door are wired in parallel so the radio seems a 2-3 ohm load (I assume)
Most radios can handle this pretty easy. Sony doesn’t have the best rep in the industry so I can’t say for sure if it’s just defective or it it’s the radio being a big baby

    Thanks for replying,

Ya I think I’m gonna contact the seller and ask if I can return it. The speakers are doing fine at max volume on the Entune head unit. I barely put any volume on the Sony and it still is making awful static.

I played with the fader/balance while the Sony is plugged in. I put it all the way to each corner to test if they’re playing sound, they are, which makes me think it’s not the connections. And I did a continuity test on the harness adapter wires.

Has anyone noticed a slight buzz from the left door after doing the CS upgrade? It’s a bass buzz, maybe it’s a tweeter crackle, but I think it’s more evident under low frequency.

Possibly something contacting the speaker cone? I don’t think it’s a loose speaker wire vibrating in the door or anything. I can hit the door panel and nothing changes.

I’m going to pull the panel off in the morning. But I just put the speakers in last weekend, so I figured I’d ask. Maybe there is some interference that I missed in someone write up or something.

Take the door panel off and see if it stops. If so, there's probably a loose clip fitting or maybe your metra speaker conversion harness?
