What tweeters did you go with?

Any opinion on Subaru kickers vs DS18?

Did the tweeter swap out back in 2018 and just wanted to say thanks for such a detailed and helpful post.

I did the Subaru ones, and they are as awesome as everyone says they are. Got them on Amazon.

What did you find out? What was your solution. I have upgraded all 6 speakers but of course still no power to the rears.

that would be my recommendation. i went through the effort of changing the rear speakers, but then later disconnected them. i feel strongly that the rear speakers are entirely useless for in-vehicle audio. now a doors-open 'party mode' is a different scenario that would prove them worthwhile.

I am also interested in what you found out, because my google-fu is not nearly as strong as yours apparently

Just did the Kicker all around plus the key 200.4 amp behind the radio and DAMN. I'm very impressed, especially after running the self-tune feature in the amp. Thinking of doing a hideaway 10 next, anyone recommend or got the same set up?

If I may ask, where did you find a 200.4?

    I’m running the following:
    Subaru kicker tweeters
    Kicker CS series 6x9 speakers
    Kicker CS series 6.75 speakers
Kicker 10” hideaway subwoofer under driver seat

I’m pretty happy with it, no additional amp for the rear speakers though so definitely not at full potential. Not too pricey, volumes a little less loud then stock but sounds really crisp and if I fiend for the bass I just turn up the bass volume knob under my seat. If I’m driving the kiddo I turn it down to save his virgin ears. I do like the hide away sub so I still get the rear seat storage for gear and what not.

Where did you mount the sub and how'd you two into audio for it?

Under the driver seat, I have the seat risers. I used a splitter off the speaker outs

Totally agree. I already bought and installed mine so I am using them, but will likely just disconnect and bridge the amp to the front components down the line. The Alpine I have allows me to set crossover and EQ by speaker, so I am just using them as a rear fill to bring the soundstage off the dash some.

I was wondering if the Subaru tweeter you mentioned is direct plug and play and screws in with no modifications. I bought all the speakers you mentioned but was iffy about the tweeters since it says Subaru

I did this whole Kicker upgrade 2 years ago. Subaru tweeters, CS 6X9 and the Kicker 6.5" in the rear. Stock head unit. I was pretty happy... But...
I just pulled my CS 6x9 speakers out of my front doors after just 2 years. As you can see the passenger side speaker failed miserably. I wonder if I can glue it back together...

    That's terrible.

How are the other speakers holding up?

If the speaker isn't repairable, you can just put the stock speakers back in the front doors.
