@bshammer0 , I hope you are getting a kickback from Crutchfeild for everyone buying up all the speakers from them.

Yeah - no such luck, but hell I'm just happy that so many folks are taking advantage of the easy / cheap upgrade and Crutchfield has great service so happy to recommend them!

hey there!!! ive just replaced the tweeters with those kickers, i feel way happier on my way to work!!!
now im looking for the 6x9s and the 6.75s on crutchfield...

just have some questions, should i get the boom mat for both pairs? and is there any difference between the sound deadner on 50 mil or 80 mil?

I don't know if folks have all had great luck with the booms... the doors act really well there based on the size / shape. Can only comment on the 50mil but allegedly you'd get a bit better sound deadening since the 80mil is thicker but not sure about fitment with the doors. Seems I may have heard the thicker material may have been a tight fit but not sure.

good luck on the speaker installs though. it will keep getting better. tweeter gateway drug = success ;)

Thought the tweeters were Subaru? Is the correct part # on the first page? Someone said they didn't fit.

The tweeters are part of an upgraded sound system specifically for Subaru's, but But they are not made by Subaru. They happen to be an easy plug-n-play upgrade for our Tacoma's as well...So not only is it relatively cheap, it's also easy!

Threw in the front speakers tonight, so now I have all 4 door speakers and the subaru tweeters installed. I must admit it is a very noticeable improvement, you simply cannot beat it for how cheap this setup is to do.

Just installed my passenger side kickers to compare with stock, I was not impressed. Maybe it is the difference in Head units since I have a SR but I lost what little base was there.
The kickers definitely have more Treble and Mid, but the bass is completely gone. Pulled them out and it's back to the drawing board..:rain:

Maybe make the jump to OEM +

Ordered some tweets, as of right now I like the sound, never really have it above 35. Question though..do only jbl audio have the logo on the head unit? Is that how you tell if you have it?

Not going to lie..it bumps pretty good, but I'm also coming from an offroading 99 jeep haha

Bummer, but thanks for sharing your experiences. Probably is a difference between the HU power output b/c I know that for those with the premium
If you have a 7" screen but no JBL logo you have the entune premium HU (same I have) and the sound was awesome when adding the doors. Even at lower volumes things are much clearer. Basically if you are familiar with audio compression - when audio is compressed basically the highs/lows get "chopped" (thats an uber simplistic explanation for something more complex, but you get the jist). So if you only listen to regular non HD-radio or even XM from the HU you will see noticeable but not massive changes in quality. The updated speakers with this head-unit make audio from bluetooth night and day though since the sound processing is happening elsewhere then its just being amplified (quite well for a HU) through the HU.

Streaming XM from your phone, listening to Pandora are all night/day in terms of quality. Like someone "turned the lights on"

If you go further and subscribe to Spotify premium and chose the highest quality audio the fidelity is outstanding. Tidal is also another good lossless option and you can hear all of the individual tracks SO well with good depth and sound staging.

True - a few pages back there are some good reports of folks installing the small kicker hideaway with good results and it wouldn't require a steerage amp since it's powered.

I'm wondering how these speakers are going to sound now. I just realized you had the JBL setup in your truck, that would be why they sound good, with the stronger hu. I have Entune with nav, without the JBL.

He had entune premium without JBL. Which is what I have and I definitely agree that it’s sounds drastically better

No - sorry if I was unclear there. I do NOT have JBL. Just the Entune Premium HU with Nav which is probably the same one you have.

That won't change the fact that the door speakers cannot fill out the sound with bass of their own. The stock speakers are pretty impressive given their construction.

Are most just doing the tweeters and speakers? Is the amp and woofer needed? I didn't see a link to those two items.

Got to say you are right. When I installed the tweeters I was blown away at how much an improvement was noticeable, but with the passenger side front and rear installed, not so much. When I took out the OEM speakers I could not believe that they could even play music as the magnets on the back were non existent compared to the Kickers. Now to finish the job and install the drivers side. I am doing the Noico install along with speaker kit from Crutchfeild so it is taking a bit of time since I am so anal. The one thing that I have notice is the the speaker adapters from CF but Metra are not an exact fit and must be manhandled or modified just a bit to work. I will post a few pics when I start the Drivers side as I am sure it will be a bit more easy install after doing the passenger side.
