Haha - I was thinking about that earlier. Should have worked a commission out - but at the end of the day I've gotten so many great tips on here - to my wallets demise - so have to pay it forward! Can't beat it for the price though

Well, I was considering the OEM+ option, but at these prices I can afford to take a chance with this. Glad someone tried it out without an amp and reported back.

By the way, I'm planning on eventually taking this a step further and adding a subwoofer. Someone else recommended this as an easier wiring option in another thread: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CQUL240/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you look elsewhere you will get them at a better price than at crutchfield

I am pretty sure Crutchfield is good about giving adapters and wiring.

And then you'll be buying adapters and mounts separate which negates the savings when combined with the buy one get one 50% off.

Just in time... I too have been thinking about what to do about the sound without spending too much money. It sure is disappointing Toyota did not invest in a better sound system given my Taco is nearly 50K.

This is true... I looked at the difference on Amazon and Crutchfield beat it due to giving me the connectors free.

If you use the Subaru tweeters, you will not need a harness... if you do not use those, you will need the harness from *********.

Did you just replace it with the tweeters? Not any doors?

I did the Subaru Tweeter upgrade probably about a month ago and it was a really nice upgrade, just ordered some door speakers this evening so that I can finish off the rest of the system.

This is awesome OP! I've been meaning to find and read through the tweeter replacement thread..haven't found the time yet, but now I've got them (from eBay) and the parts you posted from Crutchfield ordered! Definitely not a mod I planned on doing but from your post and others it seems really worthwhile!

Where's everyone getting their Dynamat from and what kind? Gonna definitely do that while I've got the panels off anyways :stirthepot:

Thanks to OP for putting up this post! I copied links for the speakers. Probably won't be until next year I do the deed with replacing 'em, but this is probably the path I'll go. I'm not a huge audiophile, but having played a few instruments for a few years of my life, I can recognize that the stock speakers are somewhat lacking.
