I would check your clips and screws on the doors. Sounds like something is loose.

    This made me chuckle.

Take a look at your stock speaker. The new speaker adapter should be positioned just like your old speaker. Make sure the square cut out on the speaker adapter is facing up. This square cut out will allow you to feed the speaker wire harness to connect to your vehicle harness.

The speaker will mount to the adapter by 4 black screws. Use the ones from the Kicker box or the ones Crutchfield included. The black clips squeeze together and the screw goes through it. To be honest, I didnt use those black clips, I just used the screws. A better idea than screws would be bolts with washers on either end and nylon lock nuts.

Also, the holes for the screws dont line up. I installed 3 screws and drilled a pilot hole for the remaining screw.

The adapter for the rear door will require the inner tabs to be removed. This will allow for the speaker to sit flush. Grab a pair of pliers and snap them off. The adapter also has a square cut out for the wiring harness. This will
point up, kinda as it will be offset.

    What other questions you got?

Could be anything. Remove the door panel and see what could be hitting the window inside? Thinking a screw is making contact with the window?

Got my door speakers installed, waiting on USPS for the tweeters. They were supposed to be here this past Thursday... Ran into a problem though. My drivers side rear door won't open from the outside or the inside now. I was able to see that the green cable came loose from the clip that holds it in place as i put the door back in but it acts like it is locked. I can hear it when I unlock it, it sounds like it unlocks. I have tried to open the door using a coat hanger to push on the latch from inside the door, I have tried to snag the lock cable from behind the manual lock, nothing seems to work. Guess I have to make a trip to the dealer or locksmith. Gonna try locksmith first.

If you remove the inside door handle cover, remove the screw, and push on the plastic mechanism (where the white/green cables connect) you should be able to get to the cable.

What aftermarket tweeters are used for the JBL system ? Is there a plug and play set up like the Subaru H631SFJ101.
Can the kickers referred to in this thread be used with the JBL system? Thanks in Advance great information in here.

Pic taken from another forum member. Kicker/Subaru replacement on left, JBL tweeter in the right.

You will have to splice aftermarket tweeter to factory speaker wiring.

Aftermarket tweeter can be mounted with a universal back strap or get tweeter adapters from Mr. Marv.

The question is where do the two spliced wires go on the 4 pin.

You can remove the connector from the stock tweeter. The pos/neg of your new tweeter will connect to the pos/neg of the connector you removed from stock speaker. Connect the harness back to the connector. Solder everything, use heat shrink tubing and should
look pretty good. This will allow you to work on the wiring outside of the vehicle versus fighting limited slack on the stock harness.

    It's done!
Sound is much more clear with better seperation... but not much of a loudness difference.
