Hell you sound like me, I went to Beach Autosound in HB, CA. I got recommended the Stealthbox, ~700 bucks. I am sure it is amazing and looks fantastic. If you combine that with install + amp + speakers I was looking at ~2,000.00 bucks. I sat on the idea for a week.

I bought the Suburu tweeters on Amazon for 90 bucks, and was shocked how good they sounded. So then I said f it and jumped on the Kicker band wagon for the 4 doors. Now I am VERY happy with the system. Maybe not as good as the Stealthbox prof install, but an amazing improvement over stock and it was ~250 bucks and maybe 1.5 hours to do it. Oh and the kicker is that the shop knocked the idea of Kicker speakers. They might not be the best, but they are damn good for the price point.

If anyone doesn’t wanna choke down the $700 for the stealthbox, the 10TW3 in the JL box fits perfectly behind the seat. You have to remove the storage though. That, coupled with a Memphis 250.1 and install, I paid $650 with tax.

You just have to loose the cubby behind the seat it looks like. Either way that storage is gone so why the hell not!

agreed! This, the Subaru tweeters and the kicker door speakers are the way to go.

Ok seems like I saw the JL box in one with just some of the storage box cut-away. The Subaru and kicker doors have made an excellent choice so far.

Would this be enough for the stealth? The ********* did not have a sub amp in the cart and that pumped it up to a minimum of $340.

My bad thought that was cheap. Forgot you have to add it. Still not as much as you were looking at. The stealth is 400 watts rms. All you need from an amp.

Ok yeah just looked at that amp. 350 watts at 2ohms is good for the stealth which is wired for 2ohms.

Yeah if you're looking for Simplicity that 5 channel amp I listed would be the way to go cuz then you're only using one amp.

For everyone that's looking to do this upgrade I would suggestsgoing suggest components versus these coaxials. Way too much tweeter and it's actually cheaper for a good component vs the tweeter and mediocre speakers. In retrospect, I'd only do the Subaru tweeters if that's all you going to do. Once you do the doors as well, you really go over cost on two items that don't mesh well

The thing with components is you have to wire in the crossovers and rewire all the doors and the tweeters. Have to reverse to go back to stock. Meh.

I installed a Kicker Hideaway yesterday. I’m very pleased with it. It’s just enough. Powered 8” subwoofer with adjustable bass knob. My only other upgrade so far is the Subaru tweeters. Overall a substantial improvement over stock.

You will be happy with it. I am. But I still think of adding an amp / sub to the OP org config all the time.

I just got my 2017 TRD Sport and drove it down from Santa Barbara into San Diego and listened to music the whole way. I don't have the JBL system. I will say that the stock speaker setup is garbage, but I don't mind spending a little extra to make it happen. So reading this thread has been great and thanks to the OP for doing the leg work. This will be my first and easy upgrade to do to it and I can't wait.

Out of curiosity, I'm an Infinity fan and Crutchfield sells the 6" x 9" for the same price as the Kickers. Anyone use the Infinity's yet? They don't sell a rear, but will a 6.5" work or does it need to be a 6.75" rear?

The crutch field adapter is 6.5 to 6.75 (since most of us did 6.75 we had to rip off some brackets to get the rear kicker to fit. Used JL in my system personally (only need 60 per speaker which works for a 5 channel amp I already had)

So today was the first day here in sunny Pennsylvania that I was able to drive around with my windows down and listen to this. With all the kicker speakers done and the 8”sub and amp I can’t express how good it sounds. I am blown away. The sub absolutely finishes it. Anybody that within driving distance of central pa that is on the fence about doing this is more than welcome to come and listen to it. I really could not be happier.
