This is what I do - one bottle of Techron 200 to 300 miles before oil change - I figure any crap will get dumped with the oil. Hope this is doing good for my truck.

I'm getting worse gas mileage with ethanol free. That will be my one and only tank of the ethanol free. No benefits at all on the Tacoma. More expensive and worse gas milage. I could't believe it.

Ethanol free: less piston skirt scoring, less cylinder wall scoring, less valve guide scoring, no damage to rubber parts, less carbon build up, less water in the fuel, and more miles per gallon (only on paper/or where ECU's don't control engine management). But none of those things I listed will happen overnight but will take years to get those advantages.

Ethanol in gasoline: lower cylinder temperature, lower cylinder pressure, higher octane, and more horsepower.

Yeah I know all that but what is the point unless I keep the truck for 300,000 miles or something. I tried it and got almost 2 miles a gallon less. I'm showing 14.7 right now at a little less than half a tank. That is terrible for a 6 cyl. I know some of it is the lift also but man I expected an increase or at least the same.

Exactly, you gotta drive it until the wheels almost fall off.

I don't know why, but I've been told small 2 stroke engines are destroyed much quicker on ethanol fuels versus automotive 4 stroke engines (weed whackers and such).
