IS the Premium Tech Package really worth the extra $2300
    you get the following:
TRD upgrade package option 3, Moonroof, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Monitor w/Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Dual Automatic Climate Control, Front & Rear Parking Assist Sonar

I do not want a moonroof but would like the other add ons.

    1. Is it worth the extra money.
    2. can I get it with no moon roof on a crew cab and save a little money
    3. does the 2016 off road come with a built in garage door opener or is this an option

I got the sport without the tech package, if they had the color I wanted I would have got it with the tech package. I will prob trade it in for one in a few years with the premium package (hopefully they add a electric seat), I've always had limited vehicles and the heated seats, auto lights, dual climate control and moon roof are worth it to me now that I have the one without I want that stuff. Parking assist eh. So if you can afford it and find the color/bed/cab you want I say go for it.

Not to me. I like to think I'm an attentive driver and don't need a bunch of monitors to tell me how to drive. Plus we have a backup camera standard. I got an access cab, so sunroof isnt an option anyway. Don't need auto headlights, if it's dark it will be hard to forget to turn them on, and they go off automatically if you leave them on. Dual-zone climate control always sounded stupid to me. Only thing I like is heated seats. And I'm not paying that much for them. Lol.

No I'm thinking about the limited instead of the off road I had my heart set on.

Is the ride and comfort significant going from an off road to a limited?
This is going to be my first Tacoma coming over from a Ridgeline.
I'm not expecting a SUV ride in the Tacoma, but the highway ride of the limited noticeably better to the Off Road?
I'll use it for going to work around town weekdays and then light/moderate off roading/hunting in the country on weekends

If only we could split the package, I'll take the sunroof, you can have all the other sensors and beepers that I don't want.

It wasn't worth it for me. Out of the package the only thing I really cared about was the sun roof. Dual climate control and the auto lights would be nice but not something I'm going to throw down a bunch more money for. I don't care for all the sensors, I'd end up turning them off or disabling them anyway. The package is all or nothing, you can't get the things you want and the others you don't.

No garage door opener included but you can buy a gentex mirror for $200 like myself and many others have done to add it. Takes 5 minutes to install.

are you married? if so, dual climate is invaluable...especially if you've had it before and been spoiled by its awesomeness.

was totally worth it for me. Love the sound system (JBL), love the moonroof, and really love the blind spot monitoring, cross traffic alert, and all that.

agreed. My wife's rav4 has dual climate and when I'm in the car with her I use it all the time. She wants the windows up all the time, so it's nice to be able to set my side to 68 when she's roasting at 78.

If I could pick and choose from the package I would have. Wife absolutely insists on heated seats and dual zone climate in any car we travel together in. The few extras on top of that are a small price to pay for getting the truck I wanted. Not Homelink unless you get the Limited, I just swapped the one out of my Outback.

Yes, I'm married with kids. ( pretty much the only reason I'm even bringing all this up)

How about the smoothness of the ride on the highway and quietness between the Limited and Off Road.
Are they pretty much the same

For me, the money for all of the extra tech goodies was well spent. I needed off-road capability AND wanted the extra amenities for regular long haul drives.

I was in the same boat as you, only wanted the heated seats. I paid an extra $400 and the dealership used a nearby shop they work with to install heated seats on my 2 front seats. Worth every penny in MA in my opinion, especially since they work with my remote start (installed by the same shop). Both items are warrantied by Toyota.

That's awesome. Is the remote start OEM or just aftermarket, and installed under the dealer and therefore warrantied?

I'm gonna look into a remote start next fall, would be nice on below-freezing mornings, let the truck warm up while I make my coffee.

Only thing is I won't get a remote start of its the type that your vehicle will shut off when you open the doors.

It's worth it if you want it.

The garage door opener (homelink) is a waste if you have to pay extra. Just hide a conventional opener wired to a momentary switch you mount some place convenient for you. Some write ups in the cheap mods section on how to.

Are you located in the U.S.? I have never seen the tow package included with the $2,300. Every window sticker I have seen confirms this. Do you mind posting a picture because I've just never seen it. On all the websites, stickers, and dealers I've seen, it has never been included.

LOL. Had a feeling this was coming. Happy to be of assistance if possible.
I think what needs to be said, is this list is a Options list.... but the OP was thinking the PnT was $2300 without mention of the tow.

Mind you PLEASE, I do NOT claim to be the final authority on all this. I have been wrong before. (I remember back in 1972 I was in a debate... well, that's a long story....)

Right, if you do not do the prem tech, the tow package is 650. With prem tech it is included. So when we priced it out, the difference meant it was only $1600 more for prem tech and I went with that. I love the heated seats, BSM, and Sonar.

It's an aftermarket remote start that works using the factory key fob. I didn't want to carry 2 fobs around, so that's how it was installed. Unfortunately, due to security issues, they all shut off once you open the door. I asked about that and bot the dealership and the shop that did the installs confirmed. Since I paid for the heated seats and remote start as part of my total purchase through the dealership and this is the shop they always use, all of the work is warrantied by Toyota.

Bingo. Tends to be a tad confusing at time. Like trying to figure out the Tacoma truck configurations!!!! That take deciphering too, and reading multiple sources.
