What is the B.O.T. height from F.F.? Looks to be about 10'. Good thinking on the insulation. Did you come up with that or the architect/engineer? I am betting it wasn't them.

bottom of timber ? Walls are 10' , underside of timbers is 9' . I came up with the insulation plan and made sure it would be OK with structural engineer

Installed the king posts and 2nd bottom chord beams of each pair today

To install the posts I first clamped the post plumb in its location and ran some #12 x 6 3/8" GRK R4 screws through the post 'tenon' and into the 4x12 bottom chord beams that I fixed in place yesterday . I then used the 5/8" holes I pre-drilled in the posts to guide the drill bit through the fixed bottom chord beam.

After I drilled the holes through the single 4x12 bottom chord beam , I then dropped the 2nd bottom chord beam into place , clamped everything together and ran the bit back through the hole I had previously drilled through the post and bottom chord beam #1 to complete the through holes for the bolted connectors

I'm cutting my own 5/8" redi rod to make the 'bolts' and using 5/8" acorn nuts and 1/4" x 2 1/2" square washers . I'm going for an 'old timber factory / sawmill' look

    5/8" acorn nuts ~

This is the finished connector look , all the hardware is going to get painted .

All bottom chord beams and king posts installed and connection bolted together . Round washers are place holders until I get a chance to prime and paint the raw metal washers

Tomorrow I'll disassemble the scaffold towers and start on the 3 ply 2x12 ridge beam .

No pics today , took down scaffold lifting apparatus and put some plumb braces on the back rake wall and then braced all the king posts plumb off of that . Cut my 2x12 ridge beam pieces so will install that in the morning then I can move on to installing the timber rafters

Got my ridge beam installed today , its a 3 ply 2x12 .

I installed 6mil poly vapour / air barrier on top of the king posts before building up the ridge beam . The poly will drape over the timber rafters for now but when we insulate it will get stapled up to the underside of the 2x12 structural rafters and taped to the rest of the vapour / air barrier so it is continuous across the top of all the timber 'trusses'

The ridge beam is cut down and extends beyond the rake walls to carry the 3' gable overhang 2x6 rafters

Simpson straps installed with 3" 10D ring shank nails to make the post to beam connection . Poly is taped where strap runs through it

Going to put in a weekend shift and try to get the timber rafters installed

Started lifting in the timber rafters today , had to switch up my original plan and re-set up the scaffold lifting towers

    Got one side in today

After getting those 3 in place I moved the lifting towers to the other side this afternoon so should be able to get the other side in tomorrow
