My drywall bud couldn't make it out today , not sure if he's coming by on the weekend so interior finish is undetermined right now but I got my strapping wrapped around the building , should finish that tomorrow no problem

27 right now in Austin, on our way to 2 on Monday. We should be at 70 in two weeks. lol

 

I think OZ has below freezing temps, 26 to 28F and is expecting wind and a decent dump of snow, almost a foot worth. Read power failures likely, as trees take out power lines.

 

-5C which is about 23F I believe

 

We have a 1/4” of ice on everything. The power lines are being weighed down with tree branches, expecting power outages. We don’t know how to act in this weather, the stores are being cleaned out.

 

yeah , my thermostat at the house here says its colder than they're forecasting , supposed to start snowing overnight , its colder than we usually are so snow might be a bit drier and lighter than our usually heavy slop

 

Its gradually warming up here, in town -13C tonight, Wed. night it was -22C and breezy.

Tape off the trusses or freehand it?

 

I'm not the greatest painter so I'll likely tape off the leading edge of the timbers where I'll be cutting in

 

are you staining, or otherwise sealing the timbers? In my mind, if the timbers were done first, then cleanup of water based paint on it would be easy?

 

probably just sand and clear sealer

 

Today I vacuumed out the shop getting ready for priming , and I removed any drywall dust / mud / hand prints etc from timbers with some soap & water . I'm thinking I might just sand timbers and not seal them at all

 

I gotta say, I really appreciate you posting all the details. It has been awesome to follow your shop build. It’s definitely above my abilities but I’m handy enough to really appreciate someone’s fine work. I feel like I can tell when someone makes something whether it’s just a job or a passion, it appears this is definitely a passion of yours. Kudos!

For what it’s worth, the timber’s would look awesome with some stain on them.
