Follow up to the spindle question. I'm a car / truck guy, I get peoples opinions, and I can make informed choices - but, enjoy getting folks feedback and experiences. I've used spindles up and down for height changes, over the years, first Taco... Now for the question, starting with a 4" spindle lift, it's likely advisable to have new, ball style UCA's, but is it required at the time of installation, to get the steering geometry for the added lift etc... Looking for practical data / experiences. I can suppose in either direction, but, what's been ya'lls experiences.

I'm not planning to run my Prerunner in Baja, believe in making custom touches, especially suspension, up and down, on my pavement pounders. My choice, my happiness, my desire - If you're a hater and wanna be rude, simply STFU...

You shouldnt catch any flack for the 4" spindles, as a lot of PeeRunner trucks here get that lift :D

You don't need aftermarket uca when running 4'' spindles on stock shocks /coils.

^^^ Great answer, haha I've looked at them, and would suppose either way ~ based on where the tie-rods connect....

Has anyone had any particular success or failure of front wheel bearing assemblies? Brands? Preferences? I'll often stick with Moog or Timken...

im new here, working on becoming a vendor for some tacoma specialty lightning projects, but i know jeff and jarrett at svc personally. they are great guys, and while they do specialize in raptors, its not the only thing they work on. they will have no issue working on your truck. you should check out the smurf runner. welding isnt a problem with them. tell them noah sent you. they will take care of you.

Use the search function, I'm sure there's plenty of discussion about ARB.

ARB is by far stronger than the stock E-locker. I have installed about 15 of them and they work great, I even have one in my built Jeep up front.

    .
Like said no need for UCAs with stock strut assemblies, they are only needed when you add more travel to avoid the bind that the stock control arms have, you are already limited by your struts anyway..
As far as wheel bearing assemblies I think a member here on the forum "Bama toy" builds complete assemblies ready to drop in with all Toyota components. I have used them and they are top notch and even have extra grease in them as compared to others.

I know this is an older post but I had to ask. I am under the impression that I'm an open diff, torque is split 50/50 all the time. Please correct me if I'm wrong but. If one wheel is in the air tourqe is still split 50/50. The reason why one wheel moves and one don't is that the required torque to move the free wheel is less than it takes to move the vehicl. Thus one spins and the other doesn't. This is just what I've read.

Locked the torque is split 50/50
Open the torque goes to the wheel with least resistance, ie the wheel in the air

That what I thought before I read the article that confused me, I must have understood it wrong.
