    Better days...

    always know the trail conditions before going on them and don't go at night! :D

    Notice how the headlights are clean? Yeah, I had to get out in the middle of escaping the trail from hell to wipe them off so I could see where I was going

    Dammmmm ....case closed. If you can do that with a Pre Runner why spend the extra money, maintenance, insurance on a 4WD?
    OK I know why.......

    I believe for most people, especially those who live where it does not snow a 4WD would be a waste.

    Most "off roading" is on flat dirt, beaches and relatively mild trailed terrain. Serious Wheelin requires the front end setup you have and a lift height than 3" and real serious wheeling ala Baja.. requires very heavily modified vehicles with short wheel bases.

    Most TRD PreRunners with a locker can get through what a stock 4WD could with few exceptions. Down here PreRunners are far more common and desirable than 4WDs. Like 5-1 on dealer lots. Up north you likely cold not sell a PreRunner and get much. Northerners have become obsessed with 4WD and AWD. I remember growing up and driving in snow with RWD cars without issues. I drove an Explorer in the Ozarks in the Winter in the snow without issues. Personally if I would need a 4WD to get through the snow, I likely would not want to be in it. Driving in snow is no fun in any car or truck...then you have to worry about the "other guy" sliding into you as well. Not worth it. Stay home until the plows come out.

    As for me. I have a street truck and could not care less what people think about it. I will likely never use the locker or go off road. I will enjoy the higher ride and the utility though....not to mention the very cushy ride.

    Lol Wish I had a pic or a video of myself when I accidentally started into voodoo trail at superstition- went down this huge uneven hill and had to climb back out. Gunned that shit and bombed up it bouncing everywhere and made it first try- stock- no damage, but embarrassment for going down in the first place.

    edit: Ah Found a pick with my truck at the bottom of the hill;
