    Well shit a winch,locker and hooks is all I've heard you need my pops was telling me there's a metal rod you can pound into the ground and hookup to it to recover yourself in case there's no trees around anyone know what I'm talking about?

    I did good in Florida sugar sand when I had Toyo AT II's. I made sure to turn my traction control off so it wouldn't cut power when they started to spin a little.

    Air down, stay on the skinny pedal, don't stop fast.

    I normally turn off the LSD when I'm not on the road.

    there is no button. From what I'm reading now pre-2009 is always on and mechanical. How exactly does this work. New to the truck and almost there in the manual

    You're right, it is mechanical. And you don't want to turn it off if you could. The LSD is your friend. How it works, is there is a clutch pack inside the differential carrier. In a straight line, the axles are locked by clutch pack, but on a corner or turn, the clutch pack provides "limited slippage" to allow the outside wheel to cover the extra distance of the turn.

    My clutch pack is completely worn out though. I'll be stepping up to a locker when the funds are available.
