    Finally found this thread! I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I have a 04 reg cab prerunner and wanna stick a locking diff in it, but i know that i would have to replace the whole rear axle. :( have any of you dun this?? and how much did it cost??

    it would not include a replacement of the entire rear axle. you can buy a nice ARB locker for about 800-900 bucks. these are fancy though that can engaged on command with the push of a button.

    a cheaper route would be a auto locker that engages once the differential notices a difference in axle speed in the rear wheels.

    you might want to get some one to install it for you as well.

    I was looking into that and i was told the the guts of my axle are a different size (larger) then most tacomas.
