IMHO, "cheaper" isn't always the most cost effective over the course of ownership. Likely best to match tread design, rubber density, and your usage... Just like anything you want to last ~ good maintenance
~ alignments, proper tire pressure, and a rotation schedule would likely garner the best results.

I'm about to up size, if anyone is in Oregon looking for a good set of BFG's...

I agree, I'm not looking to go cheap tires on the front; but if there;s something more cost effective (in the long term) i'd go for it.

But seems running the same tire then doing a 'prerunner' rotation technique is the way to go.

So I've been having issues with the truck has far as how it is riding.. it seems kind of bumpy and uneven.. and the steering wheel shakes from time to time.. I have checked the tire pressure and just recently got an alignment and it is still having the same issue. Is there anything else it could be or is that just the way lifted Tacos are?

The Powertrax locker really helped, I'm hoping these new Nitto Ridge Grappler 34's help a bit more :benchpress: Now we stare at them in the garage until the Ray10's are available.... :jerkoff: Here they are against my 265/70/17 (32") Toyo ATII's

Does the steering wheel shake at a similar mph every time?
If so it could be either an unbalanced tire or a flat spot on one or more of the tires.
I have flat spots on my rears and the steering wheel shakes at ~45-55.
My friends Tacoma lost one wheels balancing weights and his steering wheel shook briefly at 30 mph.

Edit: didn't realize this was a week old, idk if still relevant...

Try lubricating the steering column u-joints with wd-40 or something similar. worked for me and improved my steering situation drastically.
