Can you do the secondary filter mod on the pre runner and I have an 08 2wd 5speed and how do you lock the diff in the back ?? I posted a pic of the pump air filter not exactly sure what it does just seen where people upgraded to a bigger filter

 

Yes, you can do it to the prerunner 5spd. I have that exact combo except mine is an access cab

Basically you take the end of the housing off, take the screw that is in the center out, remove the foam filter (which breaks down over time and causes problems with the valves). Close it back up and pop the unifilter on the end where that round cover is. Helps prevent problems if the foam filter ever breaks up it doesn't get sucked into the pump and ruin that.

 

I added an ARB air locker in the back. I don't believe they ever offered the factory locker in the 2.7L trucks from the factory. Only the TRD Off road models came with that.. Nice looking reg cab btw man!

 

I’ve heard of this mod before but didn’t quite understand it. I get there’s a foam filter inside and it can break down, so instead you just put an external filter on it. But what is that black snail looking things we’re talking about? What’s it do and where is t located? Does every Tacoma have one? I have an 07 Sport PreRunner

 

Im assuming you have the 4.0 v6. If thats the case, you wont have that air pump since it wasnt added to the v6s until 2012

 

I’ll have to order the filter but it’s cheep so should be able to do that this weekend. Appreciate it man wasn’t sure if it was something worth doing but after watching how bad they degrade I’ll for sure be getting one

Not that im aware of. Ive got them on both of my trucks and havent oiled them at all. No problems here

So this is the wiring diagram for the 4 inch pods on my hood . I’m not sure where to run the positive off the rocker switch . It says run to battery but I’d rather go to my fuse box . The rocker switch says 25 amp and I have no clue which fuse to use .the wiper fuse is a 30 amp . I also have a completely separate harness identical to this one but for the 22 inch in bull bar . Multiple harness and 2 switches is fine just need some tips on where to wire the positive for rocker switch ? I can take a picture of my fuse box if that would help

Yeah mine has a bad lag between first and second gear.. is yours a five speed or the four speed auto? My dads is the auto 2.7L and that poor thing is a real slug
