Yeah I don’t get it, but whatever. Who cares what someone else drives? We’re all here because we love the same thing, Tacoma’s.

I like to wheel by hooking my winch to things and just pulling myself along. Don’t even need the truck on. It’s quite exhilarating.

What size winch would you recommend for these tacos

9.5k or 10k is what I’d recommend. I run 9.5k and my truck is heavy as hell. Like 1,200 lbs over stock weight.

I like this strategy. Will have to get a winch and give this a go:laugh:

Watch out though, your thumb may get a bit tired from holding the “in” switch on the winch controller. I recommend switching hands every 45 seconds to alleviate this.

I’d still recommend 9.5k at a minimum. I mentioned I’m heavy because 9.5 is as low as I’d go and even being heavy, my winch does fine. The smittybilt 9.5k XRC with steel cable is only $300 and works great. That’s what I run (though I eventually switched to synthetic line).

    Hello fellow PreRunners!
    Long time lurker recently joined.
I'm one of those guys that doesn't need a 4x4. What I really wanted was a X-Runner but it proved difficult to find the right one. So I picked up the next best thing.

Feel free to check out the progress of my truck in my sig.

Naw, just strap on a Spur Gear Upright, you'll be out before your fingers are tired lol! Had a Warn Upright 10k on my bronco, get to a Raveen that wasn't passable, I drive it off the cliff into the bottom and find a tree on the other side, (don't do this on a truck your worried about banging up!! It will get BANG UP lol) that Dang wench would pull the whole truck up the other side in like a minute or two. It's the worm gear wenches that wear you out.

Using lube regularly will keep your wench in tip-top shape. The compact units are what I like, easy to lift & move em where they're most effective. :jerkoff:
