Negative! lol use a hair dryer to heat the emblems and adhesive a little then use fishing line to saw the emblem off. Once that is done, use the hair dryer to keep the left over adhesive warm and use your thumb to roll it up into a ball. As long as the adhesive is warm, itll just roll right off. Then for good measure I took some paint safe adhesive remover from Advance Auto parts to clean the paint.

I removed mine so I could sand and paint them gloss black, then I reinstalled some of the emblems. If you plan on reinstalling them make sure you heat the new emblem tape and surface before you apply them. Don't want them blowing off going down the road. lol.

    Sanded them? Dang.

I would soak them in bleach and prime and paint - no sanding needed.

Yeah, I saw where someone had posted how to do that and it would peel the chrome off of them but I didn't wanna go that route. I just used a sanding block to scuff the chrome a little then primed and painted them. They have been that way for several months now and no signs of chipping yet.

Yes, If I remember right, you have to let them soak for a day or two but it peels the chrome off and leaves you with a nice uncoated emblem.

I just took the quick way out. lol Probably not the best for longevity but no problems so far. If they start to chip off in the future, I will use the bleach route.

Oh yeah, I really debated on leaving mine off too. Once I got them off, it just looked so clean and smooth. I left them off for a couple days but then I started to think it made mine look like a base model. When I get more mods on mine like the lift and wheels and tires, I will probably debadge it again and leave it that way but with no other mods on it, I didn't like the base model look. lol
