    Probably around 400-500$ if you find the right deal for the lock (whole new rear axle with lock already on it)

    That doesn't seem too outrageous. Will the old axel not work with the locking differential? And is there a button to push in the cab or is it automatic/manual?

    You could use your axle now but will spend 1000-1500$ instead of 500$ lol. And you will need to make a wire harness or pow range offroad sells a pre made one for like 160$ i think.

    OK, I bought a brand new TRD 2015 Prerunner and I don't see any option on the sticker about a 'locker'. In reading this thread, a TRD has one, and if the drain plug is on the driver's side I have one - but my drain plug is on the passenger side so I don't. Is there any clear way to determine it? Is there a control on the dash? or Is it a 'your screwed because of Calif crap?'
