Funny, its always the 4wds off the road here, usually cause the 2wd trucks run snow tires and aren't driving as fast...

Well there's often plenty of Denalis, Yukons, Suburbans in the ditch to keep them company too! But if it's a warm snow that packs into ice easily, the rwd trucks just start spinning when they hit an incline.

I see that too, but I contribute that to overconfidence in the system. If you know the limits and how to use it, then it's definitely better.

I know I've been glad I had 4wd the last couple of winters. I had to drop the kids off at my inlaws and take twisty back roads to get to work. In 2WD, the front end wanted to go straight instead of around the corner at a couple intersections. Having 4wd engaged pulled the front around each time.

i live in NW Ms. we rarely get snow/ice. so i went for the 4x2. its mainly my highway cruiser. i love my Yota' (when it does get bad, i fire up the lifted F150, Detroit rear and ARB front, 4:10 geared beast. i go where i want then, off or on road. its old, 93', dented, scratched and rusting it so makes a good vehicle for those times)
