I currently have a 4 door prerunner, which out of the factory (as we all know) is somewhat lifted. I would like feedback on options to lift it higher but still keep as close as possible to factory ride. Example changed the shocks...bought bigger tires.

If possible how much of a lift did you do in front and back and what size tire did you upgrade too...i.e 33..etc. Brand would be nice too.

I wanna go from standard to somewhat higher, possible cheap in cost, keep same ride...if possible

    Thanks

I just lifted @ 2.5 inches up front for 340 including 5100 adjustables and install. It rides so good and im probably going to do a 1.5 inch add a leaf in the back. U can c a pic in my profile.

If I showed you my truck..you would think its not being used...compared to your picks...I'm not worthy!!!

But I did find a spoon too...after I cleaned it out.

I debated in my head bout how to lift for ever and i wanted what you do and after talking to bout 15 ppl including the installer and DSM, I went that route n dont regret it at all. Super cheap and rides better.

Spindles will not change your factory ride.

But spindles are pricey and he said somewhat cheap in cost.

Where did you go...Any basic shock/strut place...I hear you can rent equipment and do it yourself as well

haha people use their trucks for different reasons, i use mine to romp pretty much haha. you have a tacoma, your worthy!

    i still say spindles!

if you want to go with a cheap shock, bilstein 5100s are the way to go, you can get a different coil setup on it to give it a stiffer ride if you want, and yes you can rent a spring compressor to put the springs on and do them yourself

    Very true.

OP, there are no inexpensive lift options that will not either make your ride stiffer (coil spacers, lift coils, preload shocks) or be damaging to your truck (top plate spacers, body lift).

You are going to have to compromise on either price or a change in ride comfort.

I went to loftis here in san diego. You can buy some old man emu springs too and have a shop put them on your 5100 for you n do the rest of your install. I got my 5100 through DSM.

I just paid $573 for a set of maxtrac spindles and front brake lines shipped to me. I have been told they are going to 700 next shipment due to the manufacturer.

You have any problem with the alignment? My camber is at positive .7 and the outside edge of my front tires are worn pretty badly. This is after about 12k miles. Have your alignment sheet by any chance? Would appreciate the input as I'm trying to sort this out before I buy new tires the end of February.

I dont have any issues as of yet. I also dont have an alignment sheet and om going to look in to some uca down the road and also at lifting higher. Sorry i couldnt be much help. If you r having issues just get some uca. I know it can b expensive as a package so im breaking it up. I also dont really think i need them at 2.5 but i will get em n lift higher with some ome 885.
