Or am I just crazy? I've searched and gotten the specs for hub to fender measurements for a stock 4wd. And my 2013 4wd coincides with those. I just traded in a 2006 Prerunner. Both are AC OR. Both have 265/75r16 BF Goodrich all terrains. The Prerunner had more fender gap and I had to step up slightly to get into the truck. TBH, I don't recall ever measuring the hub to fender on the Prerunner. Both are stock suspension. Is this normal? The 2013 4wd has 65k miles, the 2006 PR had 168k miles for what it's worth.

I really started to question this because I just installed the 265/75r16s on the new truck and really noticed much less fender gap.

Prerunner is about 200 lbs lighter than a 4wd. Transfer case and drive shafts in the front weigh down the front end.

Makes complete sense. I initially thought about that then forgot when posting. It looks a little silly especially since it's 4 wd. I don't want a bro dozer but a mild lift may be in the future.
It's also silly Toyota didn't account for the extra weight.

Prerunner models and 4wd models share the same suspensions within the same packages. TRD sport, off-road, etc. The only difference is the lack of 4wd. Not really worth it for them to change the suspension just to make the 4wd sit higher.
