    Hello,
I'm new to Toyota's, and have a few questions. The Tacoma I recently purchased(2wd) is a V6 prerruner, and on the side of the truck it says SR5. Now when I'm looking up auto parts, most sites ask if it's a prerunner or a SR5. I clearly have to choose prerunner because it says V6 beside the web option. SR5 auto parts web option then asks if it's a 4cyl only. Now my question is, I thought SR5 was like an interior package. I'm just a little confused on the terms both prerruner and SR5. Thank you for your help! So far this site has been really helpful! In the last 3 weeks I've changed the oil, coolant, done a tune-up, and etc. All thanks to the great info on TacomaWorld!

Pre runner is the 6 lug model. Essentially its a lifted truck like a 4wd one.

Sr5 is a trim, that offers RPM gauge, clock, and few other things.

I have a Prerunner NON SR5. Straight up base model. So I have the "look" of a 4wd.

Thus I have the ULTIMATE poseur truck. No go, all show.

When I buy parts, I make sure to pick Prerunner and 4 cyl and AT. SR5 etc, are no consequence in my truck for maintenance. Unless you are talking interior electronics or some exterior grille (chrome vs black)

I feel ya. However, I love the gas mileage! Unfortunately I don't have an rpm gauge or power windows, but I'm guessing you could pick and choose your accessories back during the manufacture date..?

    I have NO rpm gauge
    I have NO tripometer
    I have no clock.
I have no remote door unlock.

However, I have power mirrors, A/C, power windows.
    I have 4 doors.
    I have a gutless but reliable 4CYL
I have a soul sucking AT

    But I love the truck.

    It is the Taliban special.

    ...we'll get there.
On sites that are asking, I believe they'll be using "Pre-Runner" to signify 2wd.

Are you looking for any parts in particular? or just a general question?

    Welcome!

Thank you! Just a general question. I'm trying to learn everything I can about this truck because I'll be keeping it a while!
