Using the 4Runner 4wd ecu when I was testing before I put it in with the wires reversed the motors wound go till there straining past the limit switch. Once I corrected the wires and tested I found that it was only going from max to that switch, had to jump the power and re center the motor to get it all working correctly again.

Connect the motor wires to a battery. Cycle it fully one way then fully the other to get an idea of how far it goes then stop it in the middle. Then connect it back up the the ecu, and it'll set it correctly

Well, after two weeks without working on truck, today I've been able to move truck on jacks stands, but still there are some timing issues.

When I select H4, it will engage, front wheels move but then desengage, then I select center differential lock and it all start moving again.
Same to change from H4 to L4. It won't engage if center differential is not locked.

Getting this thing timed is a head ache.

What is the center diff lock? We don't have a center diff in our transfer cases. Maybe you are describing something else?

Aren't you using the stock 4WD ECU? You shouldn't have to time anything. If all the sensors are hooked up it should know the position of each actuator and reset itself accordingly. If not you should start with them both unlocked then plug them in and let the computer shift everything.

So you're using the 4Runner t-case that has the center diff? Are you also using the 4Runner ECU?

Sorry for the questions. Im sure you have this detailed somewhere but there have been a lot of conversion threads lately and I'm getting them all confused.

It sounds like with the center unlocked there is more resistance in the front then rear sovall the power is being sent to the rear. Test this by stoping the rear driveshaft and see if it sends the power to the front.

Everything I read said the tcase was limited slip but according to a Toyota tech he said it's an open center dif

Timing should be an issue. Once your somewhere in the middle of the range on the motors the computer will get it correct. Like joe said.
You just don't want the shift motors at the complete end of there path

Exactly, I'm using the ecu and took the original wire harness, which I've check against diagram many times.

I haven't think of that, I don't have rear drive shaft, so I don't have any resistance. I'll give it a try.

What about front Add?. I have figure out it should be unlocked when everything else is at middle of range.

I believe the ADD is supposed to be engaged before anything else.

That's it. Same thing mine did. Until ya get a rear shaft built run it locked.

I never had an issue with the front one. But it should be the same let the computer set it to the correct spot and it'll be working just fine.

IMG_0166.jpg IMG_0169.jpg IMG_0170.jpg IMG_0179.jpg Found a problem that I haven't noticed, one of the taps front center differential actuactor was broken, this was causing some issues, apparently because when gears were pulling case was moving not allowing full movement of internal parts. This was a very bad news since everything I have read about this 4Runner transfer case actuactor is that you have to take transfer case apart to replace it.
Been things this way I said, I will not lost anything if I try to fix it taking it apart, and I Did. Once I took everything apart I just confirmed that there's no way to put internal mechanism in time without a guide, and when I thought everything was f... up, I found a Toyota 4x4 diagnosis manual. This document shows how every Toyota 4x4 works, then I just had to figure out how to put gears in time to get limit switches in its position according to this manual. Right now, I made a test in vehicle and everything moves just right. This weekend I will figure out how to put it back in transfer case ( just reverse what I Did to take it out).

After some trials I could notice that shift shaft for center lock and H4 was not doing full travel. Took transfer case down and found a striped sprocket.

I think I cause the damage before figuring out that transfer actuator was broken.
