 putting those bolts back in was one of the most anxious things I’ve ever done. I would have had a complete come apart if I dropped one and had to disassembly the trans again. Good luck lol

What’s the best tool for cutting the exhaust? I was thinking of picking up a sawzall

A sawzall is probably the easiest/fastest but you can also use a hacksaw or a hand saw that holds a hacksaw blade.

An oscilllator works good in small areas as well, but sawzall probably the easiest and most versatile if you need to purchase a tool.

Made a little discovery. If you happen to drop the flexplate bolts, there’s a little flap at the bottom of the bell housing where it mates to the engine. I popped this and my missing bolt came falling outD4F8FDD9-CC59-481E-AE9E-A6321DCFD410.jpg

Damn this thing is stubborn! Everything’s off but is having a hard time separating from the engine lol

There’s 2 dowels correct? I think it’s just stuck on the passenger one but I don’t want to pry too much

yes, the passenger dowel is down lower right where it says "1" in the "1GRFE stamp". Id try and move the driver side back in a little. Take a pry bar and ease it off steadily from both sides. You don't want to wedge it into the dowels unevenly otherwise it'll never come apart.

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
It takes some wiggling to get it out. You’re almost there.

This is on my 6 speed but you can see the two dowels. The lower one ends up getting jammed up if you offroad because I know I've had water at least up to that line several times LOL

Thanks guys, I hope I didn’t wedge it too far. The whole tranny is kind of rotated a bit but it still wiggles on the passenger side. Will update if it doesn’t fall to the ground before then:rofl:

You did get all 9 bolts, right? I went to town and wiggled the shit out of it and it still didn’t come. Had to use an atv winch from the back:rofl:
